Enchanted Lights – Nov 2022

Thank you to everyone who has bought tickets for this year’s event. We are completely sold out on all three nights!

There are NO TICKETS ON THE GATE so if you haven’t already booked tickets you won’t be able to gain entry on the night.

As we are at capacity for each time slot on each night nor can we accommodate any time or date changes from people who already have their tickets.

******************************

We are so excited about our enchanted lights woodland trail experience, this is being held over three evenings: 3rd, 4th & 5th November.

The trees and arboretum will be lit up with coloured lights, soft music and special illuminations creating a  magical evening.  Featuring enchanted woodland creatures with interactive LED spinning performances, a charity wishing water fountain, fire dance performances and more (!) making this a truly immersive and entertaining evening.

Purchase marshmallows to toast on the specially designed mini fire-pits under the stars on the Old Hall Lawn and then at the end of the trail enjoy locally produced food from street food vendors around the fire-pit.  Perhaps indulge in a Baileys hot chocolate, mulled wine or locally brewed beer from the FAB bar in the Safari Tent where you can warm up around the log burner!

We are operating two time-slots (5pm – 7pm and 7pm – 9pm) each evening over 3 nights where a one-way system will be in place to ensure it is an enjoyable experience for all our visitors.

This is a lovely alternative evening’s entertainment to a traditional bonfire or fireworks night – even well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome!

Please buy your tickets in advance online to avoid disappointment...

This event has now finished. Please check back later.

Enjoy an evening wandering along our enchanted woodland trail (just under a kilometer long) lit up with coloured lights, soft music and special illuminations creating a magical experience.  Through the lit tunnel and into the orchard there will be golden stars to spot along the way winding around up to the Old Hall Lawn.  Here you will find enchanted woodland creatures who will interact with the audience using LED lights and props on the Old Hall Lawn at set times.  The charity water fountain enables visitors to take a moment to absorb the atmosphere of the lighting in arboretum.  Walk around to the safari tent where fire dancing performances will take place under the sparkling glitter ball in front of the safari tent.  This makes for an immersive and entertaining evening for all ages!

For those wanting a snack to enjoy along the trail there is the opportunity to purchase marshmallows to toast on the specially designed mini fire-pits under the stars on the Old Hall Lawn and also at the end of the trail enjoy locally produced food from a variety of street food vendors available around the fire-pit.

This event is perfect for those who are seeking an alternative to a traditional fireworks display at this time of year and is well suited to small children and those with additional needs. Well behaved dogs on leads are also more than welcome to enjoy the peace and beauty of this night time event with you.

If you’d like to come to this event please buy your tickets in advance online or if you do not have internet access please phone us on 01507 578236 to avoid disappointment – there is more information regarding access on the visitor information tab – oh and don’t forget to bring a torch!

We are ONLY accessible from the A158, please look for the signage on the roadside turning down Clays Lane and following the signs to Stourton Woods / the Walled Garden Baumber.  PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO ACCESS FROM THE CAISTOR HIGH STREET B1225.

Once on the Estate after 50 yards turn right onto the chalk road and through the main gates into the woodland parking area beyond where parking professionals will help you park safely.

Unfortunately acessibility for wheelchair users to this event is problematic due to the nature of the ground.  It is held in woodland and can be rather uneven and should it be wet it may become muddy in places.  There is a surfaced route / path up to the safari tent and disabled toilet facilities so elements of the event can be enjoyed but the trail is not 100% accessible in its entirety.

Pushchairs have coped well with the trail in previous years, however larger wheeled buggies have fared better – or if you have a baby rucksack / carrier these are much better options!

This is a ticketed only event, please show your booking confirmation (either printed or electronically on your phone) once you have parked at the gazebo by the hand gate in order to to gain entry to this event.

Well behaved dogs on leads are also more than welcome to come and enjoy this event too.  Don’t forget to wrap up warm and bring your torch.  We will be putting a woodchip path in place so if you’re not sure of which way to go look for the woodchip trail..!

Any other queries do have a read through our event FAQ‘s or contact us directly and we’ll do our best to help you.

***Don’t Forget***

  • Please bring confirmation of your booking with you as these are checked on the gates, electronic or a print out is fine.
  • Please dress for the weather! We recommend wellies or boots as the ground may be a bit wet underfoot. We also recommend warm coats and perhaps a brolly!
  • Bring a torch with you, whilst the entrance is well lit, making your way through the car park may require some extra lighting!
  • We’re a dog friendly event! Please make sure that your dog is on a lead at all times and please clean up after them.
  • Don’t forget to bring some change with you for the @StBarnabasLinc wishing fountain. All the food vendors have card machines, however, some cash for any food or drink sales may be a good idea in case of technical issues.
  • There’s no need to arrive early for your time slot. It might be better to arrive slightly later to avoid the rush & queuing.

We look forward to seeing you over the course of the Enchanted Lights event!
