1. What type of wedding venue is Stourton Woods?

Stourton Woods is a relaxed, rustic woodland wedding venue set within beautiful parkland, lakes and surrounding woodland. At the heart of the venue is our safari tent, offering a naturally atmospheric setting for couples looking to create a celebration that feels personal, informal and connected to the outdoors.

2. Can we hold both our ceremony and reception at the venue?

Yes, whilst we are not licensed for legal ceremonies, many couples choose to have a personalised blessing in the grounds, alongside holding their reception here. This allows you to complete the legal element separately, before making your vows in the woods surrounded by family and friends.

The ceremony area, set within the shelter of the woodland and overlooking the lakes and parkland beyond, is in close proximity to the safari tent, allowing the whole day to flow naturally in one setting.

3. How many guests can you accommodate?

The ceremony area seats up to 96 guests, and the safari tent accommodates up to 110 guests seated, extending to around 150 for more informal evening celebrations if desired. For smaller weddings, the space can easily be adapted to feel intimate and relaxed.

4. What options do you offer for weddings?

We offer two main approaches:

• Fully flexible venue hire, giving you the freedom to design the day entirely your way and choose your own suppliers, priced from £6,499
• Our Woodland Wedding package, designed for a minimum of 80 guests, which includes a personalised blessing, catering (canapés, BBQ with sides and desserts), a DJ and disco, along with 6 fully furnished bell tents for overnight accommodation

Both options include dedicated wedding planning support from the moment you book through to your wedding day, as well as a fully stocked bar service.

You also have time to personalise the venue the day before, with the option to stay overnight in the grounds, allowing you to create a wedding that feels truly your own.

5. What is included in the venue hire?

Venue hire includes full use of the safari tent and surrounding grounds on your wedding day.

This includes trestle tables and chairs, outdoor picnic tables, fire pit and benches, ceremony benches and hexagonal ceremony structure, festoon lighting to the car park, toilet facilities, power generator and running water. There is also the option for guests to camp overnight within the grounds.

In addition, we provide a full bar service and dedicated wedding planning support throughout your wedding journey and on the day itself. We aim to keep everything as transparent as possible, with no hidden extras.

6. How much flexibility do we have to personalise the day?

A great deal. Flexibility is at the heart of what we offer.

Many couples choose to bring in their own suppliers, styling and personal touches, creating a day that reflects their individual tastes without feeling overly formal or prescriptive.

7. What is the setting like?

The venue is set within secluded woodland, overlooking lakes and open parkland where deer can often be seen grazing. The safari tent sits within a tree-lined arboretum, creating a setting that feels peaceful and naturally beautiful throughout the day and into the evening.

8. What happens if the weather isn’t good?

The safari tent provides a sheltered and comfortable space, so your day can continue smoothly whatever the weather.

For outdoor ceremonies, many couples choose to have umbrellas on hand – these can look lovely in photographs and mean you only need to be outside briefly if there are showers. Alternatively, ceremonies can be held in the safari tent, or in the roundhouse near the parking area.

We can also help you plan flexible timings to work around passing showers, so you can feel confident everything will still come together beautifully.

9. What support do you provide during planning?

Working with Amy Lauren Weddings, we provide dedicated wedding planning support throughout.

Amy has over a decade of experience and is there to guide you through the process, helping to ensure everything is well organised ahead of your day and runs smoothly on the day itself. Our aim is to make the experience feel calm and enjoyable from start to finish.

10. How do we arrange a viewing?

You’re very welcome to come and see the venue in person. We offer flexible viewing times, including weekdays, evenings and weekends.
