Farm Safaris at Activity Day (12.05.24)

Come & enjoy a tractor & trailer tour on our Farm Safari!

Discounted to only £4 per person for this event to support the wider Lincolnshire Wolds Outdoor Festival taking place from 11th – 27th May.

Climb aboard the trailer and find out how we look after the historic Stourton Estate.  Travelling through woodland you will see the beautiful parks with our herds of red deer grazing and stunning lakes beyond.  Find out just how diversified the farm is – with our venue Stourton Woods and some of the products we make here .  No longer ‘just’ an arable farm we will share how we care and look after the deer living in the parklands.  This is just part of the story as we are start the journey towards regenerative agriculture… fully interactive this is an experience not to be missed!

These Safaris (lasting around 45 minutes) are limited in number & normally sell out quickly.  We will run them at hourly intervals and would advise you to book online or you can reserve your place(s) subject to availability, on the day from the Stourton Estates stand in the arboretum.

Advanced bookings are now closed.  However, bookings for the Farm Safari will be taken on the day, at the Stourton Estate Stand.

This event has now finished. Please check back later.

You have the opportunity to enjoy a Farm Safari on the tractor & trailer whilst you are here for the Activity Day on Sunday 12th May 2024

We are offering tickets for only £4.00/ticket (discounted for this event to support LWOF.)

You will learn how we manage the estate (i.e. the woodland, parkland, lakes) and how we have diversified the farm from just an arable offering by introducing red deer and also creating the venue Stourton Woods.  Our Experienced Tour Guide will then talk about how we look after and care for the deer as part of the wider farming big picture.  This leads into regenerative farming and how we are making big changes in the way we farm here and how it all knits together with some of our other products such as logs, landscaping and venison and how what we sell & produce has a very low carbon footprint.

Tours will start from the outside the Arboretum, starting at 10.30am – look out for the tractor & trailer and signage boards!

The tours will last about 45 minutes.

We will run more safaris throughout the day – they will last about 45 minutes.

Infants under 2 are free of charge, but must sit on knees.

Wheelchair access is available – we have an elevated platform at the back of the trailer, please make a note of this on your booking if it is needed.

We are ONLY accessible from the A158, please look for the signage on the roadside turning down Clays Lane and following the signs to Stourton Woods / the Walled Garden Baumber.  PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO ACCESS FROM THE CAISTER HIGH STREET B1225.

Once on the Estate after 50 yards turn right on the chalk road across the field signed Stourton Woods, then into the deer enclosure on the left where we will be managing car parking.  There will be a £5 per car parking charge for this event, but no further entry fee.
