These will be sown as soon as soil conditions improve. Timely drilling is essential to maintain quality โ particularly as our oats are intended for human consumption and our barley for malting markets.![]()

For our spring barley, we are using home-saved seed. This has been professionally cleaned using gravity separation and screening processes to remove small grains and chaff. A nutritional seed dressing has been applied to support early establishment, and the seed has been stored safely in 1 tonne bags ready for drilling.
No plans for meals over the week-end yet? Fresh estate-reared venison could be just what you're looking for. Quick-cook steaks for something simple, or a sirloin joint if you want to make a proper occasion of it for Mother's Day. ![]()

Due to bird flu precautions in the area, our friendly hens have temporarily been housed in a secure shed at the farm. They continue to be well cared for and are enjoying supplementary feeds of sunflower seeds and wheat, which they are clearly appreciating!

The cattle are enjoying their winter housing on deep straw beds. Weโve recently added a @mchaleofficial straw blower and silage feeder, which has made a real difference.![]()

It allows us to bed and feed cattle without entering pens, reducing labour and improving safety. The cattle also seem to enjoy having straw gently blown over their backs! The same machine is used to feed silage to both cattle and deer, chopping and fluffing it to make it easier to eat.
