🚧 Investing in the farm for the future![]()
![]()
There's been a little disruption around the Stourton farmyard recently.![]()
![]()
We're replacing areas of old and broken concrete with a brand-new surface.![]()
![]()
It's a significant investment, but one that should make a real difference to the day-to-day running of the farm for many years to come.![]()
![]()
The new surface will make it easier to move machinery, manage and feed the cattle and keep the yard clean.![]()
![]()
It'll even make loading our log and landscaping delivery van easier!![]()
![]()
Not the most glamorous project perhaps – but a#stourtonestates #FarmLifet#lincolnshirefarming#LincolnshireFarming

Our public events season may be over, but we still have some availability for weddings and private celebrations in our beautiful woodland safari tent next year.![]()
![]()
Tucked away amongst the trees and overlooking the lakes, it’s a wonderfully relaxed and flexible setting where you can create a celebration that really feels like yours.![]()
![]()
Even better, we’re holding our 2026 prices for 2027 bookings made before the end of this year.![]()
![]()
Fancy seeing it for yourself?![]()

Get in touch to arrange a viewing and come and explore the venue. 🌳🥂![]()

We're about to temporarily lose one of our valued Stourton team members to slightly sunnier climes!![]()
![]()
Jamie will shortly be heading off to Australia again over the quieter winter months, where he’ll be operating large-scale combines and working as part of a contracting team harvesting in Victoria. 🚜![]()
![]()
We wish Jamie a brilliant time ‘down under’ and look forward to welcoming him back to Stourton in the spring.![]()
![]()
Have a great time, Jamie! 👋![]()

The autumn deer work has begun, with our hinds now separated from the stags in preparation for the rut.![]()
![]()
September's rain has brought about an incredible transformation across the deer parks, with a fantastic flush of new grass.![]()
![]()
In fact, there's now so much available that we've been able to stop supplementary feeding with silage for the time being.![]()
![]()
The deer themselves are looking fantastic too. Both the yearlings and hinds appear noticeably larger than they were at this point last year.![]()

With the bird nesting season over, Jamie and Ed have been busy clearing overhanging boughs, dangerous trees and fallen timber around the estate.![]()
![]()
We've also started some long-overdue woodland thinning.![]()
![]()
A timber harvesting machine has been working through selected areas, removing trees to give those remaining more room to develop and helping us manage the woodland for the future.![]()
![]()
And nothing goes to waste – timber removed during the work will eventually find its way into our logs or woodchip.![]()

It's hard to believe that just a few months ago this field was filled with a spectacular sea of yellow and lots of you were wandering through our Sunflower Trail.![]()
![]()
Things look rather different now!![]()
![]()
The sunflowers have been harvested, dried and safely stored in the shed ready to be sold as winter bird feed. 🐦![]()
![]()
With the ground so dry, we've also taken the opportunity to cultivate the field and plan to sow winter wheat rather than waiting until spring.![]()

We’ve temporarily moved the deer out of Lodge Park while we carry out some essential repairs to the fencing.![]()
![]()
The first stage has involved taking down sections of fencing so we can safely access and remove diseased ash trees between the A158 and the park. Nothing will go to waste: the smaller timber will be chipped for use as boiler fuel, while the larger timber will be processed into our kiln-dried logs for sale.![]()
![]()
We’ve also now separated the stags from the hinds in preparation for the rut. Looking ahead to the cooler months, the deer will soon receive a copper bolus and worming treatment to help keep the herd healthy throughout the winter.

We had the pleasure of hosting the wedding of R & D during August. ![]()
![]()
Their blessing was conducted by the bride’s brother in the shade of the arboretum with views down to the parkland. Glasses were raised and the couple celebrated in the safari tent incorporating an outside dance floor area, with photo booth, magician and outdoor games as well as a bell tent village for overnight guests. ![]()
![]()
Congratulations Mr & Mrs Bodily, we hope celebrating here cements your love for each other and you have a long and happy life together.![]()
