Outdoor Festival Guided Walk – Stourton Uncovered! 14th May 2024

The Lincolnshire Wolds Outdoor Festival is showcasing the Lincolnshire Wolds Natural Landscape, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and all it has to offer from 11th – 27th May 2024.  The festival will be launched at Stourton Woods on 12th May and you have another opportunity to go on a guided walk on Tuesday 14th May at 10am.

You will enjoy a fully guided walk through the beautiful estate at Stourton with the Deer Manager. You find out how we manage this venue and care for the herds of red deer living in the parks. We will also explain why we are moving to a regenerative farming system as well as our diversification projects.

You will also have the opportunity to order freshly frozen venison en route that we can then deliver back to your car at the end of your walk in the car park. Refreshments are available from the Walled Garden Baumber (adjacent venue) that you will need to walk / drive to at the end of the walk.

To book your place for this walk please contact us to reserve your place(s).  Numbers are limited to ensure a pleasant experience for all on the walk.

There is no charge for this walk, however we will be collecting donations for LRSN (Lincolnshire Rural Support Network) to support the crucial work they do.

We are accessible from the A158, look for the signage on the roadside turning down Clays Lane and following the signs to Stourton Woods / the Walled Garden Baumber.  PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO ACCESS FROM THE CAISTER HIGH STREET B1225.

Once on the Estate after 50 yards turn right on the chalk road across the field signed Stourton Woods, to the woodland beyond where there is a parking area with a pay and display ticket machine.

Normally there is a small car park charge of £4 which goes towards the maintenance and upkeep of the estate, this will be waived as this walk is taking place as part of the Lincolnshire Wolds Outdoor Festival, however we will be taking donations for the Lincolnshire Rural Support Network. Dogs on leads are also more than welcome to come and enjoy a day out with you too.

Please ensure that you arrive in suitable outdoor clothing and footwear appropriate to the weather conditions.  We would advise bringing drinking water, suncream and possbily even waterproofs!  Anyone taking medication should also make sure they have it with them – e.g. inhalers, epi-pens, pain relief etc as appropriate.
